New Gear = Good Times! 12/16/2010

We just picked up some new toys at Vaughan Music Studios, and had a blast with them during Steve Swanson's session. We picked up a pair of JBL LSR4300s, and the Universal Audio 710 Twinfinity Mic Pre.
The JBLs are great... Tons of detail, but not sterile.
Check these out:

The Universal Audio pre was great.  The tube setting is great on vocals. Being able to switch over to the solid state circuit, and blend the tonality adds a tons of versatility. I'm excited to use this some more in the future.

Pro Tools 9 Arrives... In flight recording sessions! 12/14/2010

I remember when I was in college and Digidesign was raving about working on your record while flying. What a great marketing campaign... I thought that would be great. Now I am sitting on a plane with my 15" MacBook Pro and Pro Tools 9, and would love to automate this vocal, but my neighbor in front just smashed my screen into my keyboard while reclining. While readjusting my posture, I elbowed my neighbor in the face. For some reason, I am no longer inspired.

Anyone want to buy my outdated MBox2?
